Covid-19

Well, the start of this summer has been one for the books. In February, the coronavirus hit the US and by March put a real crimp in everyone's plans for the summer. We had reservations on AMTRAK for April 22 but had to change them because we were now under a "stay-at-home" restriction. Besides, who would want to travel on a train with a deadly virus going around. So here we sat, inside our home, only going out to get needed supplies and food which was another adventure in itself. Even the clubhouse in our community closed and locked their doors.

I couldn't play bingo, cards or games with friends because we all needed to stay at least six feet apart! Okay, so I have stuff to do at home, right? Well after cleaning every room in my house, playing on my computer and playing games on my iPod, I was getting bored and going through bingo withdraw. I even had time now to do some cross-stitch, playing on my Wii and even exercising! Jack and I even started playing cards together. We can still walk around the community as long as we stay at least six feet away from everyone and now we were told to wear masks when you go out into public. We have gone to the store, armed with gloves and a mask. My girlfriend said she never thought she would be going into a bank, wearing a mask to ask for money and not worry about being arrested. Because of this isolation, we are cooking more, reading more and binge-watching movies on our firetv stick, watching whole series in one or two days.

As I said, we had to change our plans for going north for the summer due to this virus but even worse, Mary and Gary, owners of the campground, are here in Florida and now can't leave. They are under a "stay-at-home" order. Not only that but Vermont is the same and won't even let them come home.

In the meantime, make the best of your situation, stay safe by taking precautions, wearing your mask when you go outside your home, washing your hands when you return and please remember, be responsible and help to keep others healthy.

The one thing that isn't cancelled is HOPE. Pray for all the workers in the hospitals and those in essential services that are taking care of the rest of us through this unprecedented time.

Good News

Some good news, by the end of April, they would now allow owners to go home to Vermont, but they have to "quarantine" themselves for 14-days and can't take any reservations until June 15th, so Mary and Gary are on their way back.

Stay safe and healthy.
