Sept 8, 2017 - Every season the campground puts on a seasonal dinner supplying everything just for the seasonal campers and this year they had both lobster and steak. They cooked forty 1-lb lobsters and grilled 30 steaks, and all the extras were catered. They fed 26 campers. This was a first for us and boy was it good. Sept 7, 2017 - They call Quechee Gorge the Grand Canyon of Vermont but it's nothing like it as far as I'm concerned. Yes, its 165 feet deep and is the deepest gorge in Vermont. It serves as a popular tourist attraction in Quechee State Park and can be viewed from the U.S. Route 4 bridge and from trails on both sides of the gorge. The Ottauquechee River flows through the bottom of the gorge and Rt. 4 goes right over it.

Sept 3, 2017 - The campground held a contest for the best dressed dog. It was raining out but eight dogs and their owners showed up. Each dog was given a toy after they performed a few tricks. They had to sit and not take a treat until told to, they had to walk around the pavilion next to their owner and pose for a picture. Needless to say, they all got a toy. Two people acted as judges and the winner received more toys, treats, a dog collar and doggie bags and scoop. T

Aug 16, 2017 - Last weekend the owners of the campground celebrated owning it for 20 years. They had a large sheet cake, brought out their numerous photo books with pictures from day one, and the seasonal campers toasted them and gave them a present. We all had a great time celebrating. Jul 27, 2017 - We took a ride about 40 miles from St. Johnsbury, VT into New Hampshire to go to the North Haverhill Country Fair. We had a good time walking around watching all the kids on the rides, looking at all the animals and the shows. We saw plenty of cows, oxen pulling contests, chickens, rabbits, goats and one large pig with 12 piglets. There was also a car show with about 50 cars, some nice ones too. Jul 23, 2017 - The campground had a frozen t-shirt contest. There were two teams of grandfather and grandson. The t-shirts were balled up in a container filled with water then frozen, and each "team" had to thaw it out using nothing but their bodies and put it on to win. Needless to say, the grandfathers did most of the work, taking almost two hours. Each got a free ice cream as their prize.

The campground had a woman come in and she taught anyone who wanted to learn how to paint a watercolor picture. I didn't join but did watch seven women and one guy do their best and they did really well too. She's coming back again next month, and I think I might join this time.
