Well it's been a few weeks since I've updated our blog. Jack and I have been helping around the campground, enjoying the activities, meeting all kinds of people and just having a good time. Ever since we got here the rains have been pouring down and during these past two months, it's been sunny and warm only five times. Yesterday the sun came out and it has been beautiful since. This week it's expected to be in the 80's. Finally, Summer is here.
Memorial Day weekend - 5/25
We played bingo, had hamburgers and hot dogs with a potluck for dinner and country music entertainment show with Sherri's Jubilee. We also played a game where we had to take turns unwrapping a cellophane ball to get to prizes wrapped inside. Mary and I wrapped two of them the day before, there were 15 items in each ball, and we had to make sure most of them were covered by the cellophane. What a job but we had a really good time and laughed a lot. Mary said I could play because there was no way I would remember where the stuff was, and I couldn't. I did win a set of earbuds, a $1 and a candy bar. I think everyone won something. It was a lot of fun.
Our rig all dressed up hot dogs & hamburgers cooking Sherri's Jubilee music
Everyone enjoyed the music in the pavilion as it rained - it stopped for the bonfire
Ready to play - we had to unwrap this cellophane ball to get prizes - lots of fun
We all won something, except for one but we all shared ours
Father's Day weekend - 6/15
We celebrated all the fathers by having a chicken BBQ with potluck, a large bonfire and country singer, Larry Ebere. The chicken was great but there was hardly enough of the other stuff for everyone because most were desserts.
Lots of good chicken, entertainment by Larry Ebere and a large bonfire
Rebuilding the Pond - 6/17
There is a nice pond in the campground. One day, a woman was leaning over the fence and broke it, so Mary decided she wanted a brick wall built and oh by the way, put in a waterfall down to the pond. So the guys got started on building one. It took them only four days but look how great it looks now.
Stone had to be cut walls were built
River rocks were placed All finished

Then, planted flowers
