Visit to Brandon, VT

We took a few days to go to Brandon, Vermont to visit friends. We stayed at the Lilac Inn right downtown. A beautiful Inn. We explored around town with lots of shops and art galleries, and ate at the Café Provence, a French restaurant, for dinner with really good food.

Brandon, Vermont is a small historic town on the National Register. Among the big, beautiful homes on Park Street is where we found the Lilac B&B. Brandon is a key gateway to the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area and is so vibrant in the arts, that Brandon has become known as the “art and soul of Vermont.” A favorite spot for artists is found in Kennedy Park overlooking the upper falls of the Neshobe River.

Brandon Inn - The Brandon Inn has a rich history dating back to the late XVIII century and has served as a gathering place for travelers, locals, and notable figures ever since. The current Hotel was built in the 1890s, after a fire destroyed most of downtown Brandon, with extensive renovations done over the years.

We visited our friends while there. They live on 40-acres and have changed from city folk to country folk. What a beautiful place and wonderful home they created. I envy them.

Their country home

They have a beautiful perennial garden in front, an orchard of apple, pear and peach trees; a blueberry patch, and vegetable gardens. A beautiful place for a beautiful couple.

We really enjoyed our visit and wish them years of happiness there.
