It's been raining a lot this season and on July 10th, the heavens opened up and created a lot of flooding. The Governor declared a state of emergency. However, most of the flooding and road damage was to the west, north and south of our little campground. The river in back of us did rise by several feet but still not enough for concern. We are all keeping a watch on it. We have rocks and a tree we use as an indicator for how far the water has come before we get concerned. The news is saying Vermont is under water! Yes, there is major flooding in areas, even the Capitol in Montpelier, Vermont had cars under water, but the major flooding is in the west part of the state with roads being washed out. The basement of the home of one of the seasonal campers, who live in East Montpelier, flooded. The water didn't come in through the walls but through the windows! That's how high the water got. What a real mess and they lost everything in their basement. A real disaster as she had just finished redoing the basement to make a craft room and filled it with 14 years worth of sewing and quilting materials and sewing machines. The guys here tried to get to their house to help them, but they couldn't find any good roads to get there. They had to wait for three days before being able to get there.
We are okay and in no need to move the rig. Rain is coming all next week but hopefully, the river will have lowered some. Pictures of what the river looks like.
