Where's Waldo Contest

This Saturday, the campground celebrated Halloween. This year, the theme was "Where's Waldo". Everyone was supposed to dress like Waldo, and they would win money if they guessed who the "real" Waldo was. People decorated their site, carved pumpkins and made their guesses. For each event you participated in, you won a punch on the pumpkin punch board and could win candy, money or gift certificates. It was a lot of fun and even though the weather forecast predicted heavy rain and high winds, it held off until after 8:30 pm for the festivities and we were even able to have a bonfire.
Lots of us dressed up and each got a chance to punch the pumpkin board
Those who carved a pumpkin also got a punch on the pumpkin board, plus money for the winner. There were some really cleaver ones.

Pumpkin carving contest winner
The winner of the pumpkin carving contest. He received $25. He actually punched holes and threaded the strings (web) through the pumpkin.
Everyone gathered in the pavilion to guess where Waldo was by putting their guess on a piece of paper and putting it in a jar. Mary would then see who was right. There were three who guessed correctly, so Mary had to ask four questions to determine the winner
One person wore a costume with all the answers to Mary's questions without knowing she was going to ask them. Mary tried to hide those answers. So, where was Waldo - he was standing right in back of the pumpkin table, yah, the cardboard image. The winner won $25.
Site Decorating Contest
Here are some of the decorated sites
The girls won and they actually did two displays. They set up the Moose River Cemetery on Friday night, but because the threat of heavy rain on Saturday (day of festivities), had to take it down. The wolf was all fur, and the tombstones were cardboard. So, they decided to make another display inside their motor home. They really deserved the win. They received a $25 basket from the Maple Grove store. Here are all the displays they did.
Friday night display

Joann even made tombstones for Mary and Gary out of paper mâché (not too sure if they appreciated that)

HERE LIES
GARY
LUNDERVILLE
He died of a broken heart
The tractors that he loved
so much
Were sold for spare parts!!
RIP
MARY
LUNDERVILLE
Her death came quick
she was playing a game
when Bula took the joker
that bore her name
She plunged it down
right through Mary's heart
yelling
I'M YOUR FAVORITE
SARAH IS NOT!
By way of explanation, Gary just loves his tractors. Mary the girls and I play Pegs & Jokers (a card game) where the Joker kills your opponent and usually Mary uses it on me. Sarah actually made a t-shirt that says, "I'm Mary's Favorite".
Saturday night display
They took all Friday night's display down and put this in their motorhome window
The girls and I would sit by the bonfire enjoying our drinks. The display is us at the Moose River Tavern. Skeletons holding beer and Pepsi are the girls and the one laying down is me, with an empty bottle of a chocolate wine called Cow Pie made with Caribbean rum. My skeleton actually has red hair.....
Everyone who got a punch on the pumpkin punch board took their turn to win prizes. Afterwards, all the unpunched cups were punched out by Mary and her helper Christopher.
It was a lot of fun and everyone got something

The weather held off and we were able to enjoy a bonfire that evening
