Flooding in the campground

On Wednesday, July 10, the rains came from Hurricane Beryl. By 4 am Thursday morning the river was cresting its edges and sites were beginning to flood. Gary and Mary went around waking everyone up and moved any rig that wanted to be moved. By 6 pm Thursday, instead of receding, the river rose while more rain came down. It was not fun and we are now living on a 44 foot by 8 foot island. Our fifth-wheel is completely surrounded by water. The river crested over our rocks and is running freely around and under our fifth-wheel. It is 1/4 inch from covering our deck and it's predicted to rain the rest of the week! The roads in the campground were damaged by the running water, the cabin is now also surrounded by water and if the deck wasn't chained to the cabin, it would have floated down the rushing river. We even had a septic tank "pop-up" out of the ground! This is the worst we have ever seen.

Update:  July 12th - We actually stayed in our fifth-wheel the whole time.  We didn't get much sleep because we kept checking the jacks and site for erosion.  By July 12th, the river receded, and we are once again surrounded by grass, not water.  There was no damage to our fifth wheel and the water didn't wash out any of our site, and our deck stayed in place solidly sitting on the ground the whole time.  However, the rushing waters put deep ruts in the road so Gary has been repairing them all day.  There was only minor damage to the sites but lots of debris.
