We drove to Freeport, Maine to see all the cars in the Great Race. The Great Race is a nine-day, 2,300-mile adventure starting in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 22, traveling through 19 cities in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and ending in Gardner, Maine on June 30th. The Great Race is not a "race" to get somewhere first, it's a time, speed, distance rally that puts man (or woman) and machine to the ultimate endurance test. It's all about precision driving, and the team with the score that is closest to the Rally Master’s pre-determined time wins the event and takes home $50,000.

The ceremony started with two boy scouts presenting the flags and a guy singing the National Anthem. Each car drove through the welcome sign and a radio DJ announced the make, model, and drivers of the car. I just love a parade!
